Welcome to week two of Half-Baked Headlines where I bring you the craziest news around. We all seem to have a little crazy in us from time to time and the people in these stories are no exception.

GRAFTS_16417Have you ever had a job that gave you certain access to things? Have you ever taken advantage of this access and used it to your own benefit? Gary Dudek, 54, of Wallingford, Philadelphia had a job like that. He was a sales representative for the regenerative medicine firm Organogenesis. He was allowed to order skin grafts for the hospital, who only needed a few at a time. Dudek ordered more than 200 skin grafts without authorization. These grafts were not used by the hospital. Dudek was charged with stealing more than $350,000 worth of human skin. He received charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and tampering with records. He was able to post bond by paying 10 percent of the $10,000 bail. No one knows the motive or what happened to all of the skin grafts. This makes me think of the horror movies where killers use the skin of their victims to make body suits. What else would someone do with all of that human skin?

140530150927-weed-fairy-2-story-bodyThis next story is for all my Mary Jane lovers. What would you do if you received a visit from “The Weed Fairy”? When a neighborhood in Seattle, Washington received a visit from the fairy, it came in the form of nuggets of pot taped to flyers that were distributed throughout the neighborhood. Yeni Sleidi, 23, said that she passes out these nuggets of pot to amuse people and to give them a break from stress. Sleidi passed out over 50 fliers over Memorial Day weekend. Washington legalized pot in 2012 so there was no legal action taken. The fliers came with the message: “These are tough times. Take this weed and keep your spirits high.” How many of you would love a visit from “The Weed Fairy”? She must be a very well loved person!

w460You know those situations when you go to a restaurant and take things like the salt shakers and sugar packs or go into a public restroom and take sample soaps? Imagine walking into a men’s restroom and noticing that someone has taken the metal urinal parts. In Birmingham, Alabama the officials are investigating a string of urinal thefts. The culprit has only been described as a man walking into the bathroom and coming out with flush valves and supply lines from the urinals. My guess would be that he thinks he can sale these parts for money. As someone who works with metal, I can assure you that he will be disappointed. The police are unsure if this was the motive because the parts were not made of copper, which can be valuable. Can you imagine all the germs and bacteria on those parts? Maybe he needed urinal parts for something and couldn’t afford them. Who knows what people think in today’s world?!
