To the school that sent a letter home to the parents of a girl who carried a Wonder Woman lunchbox…….What The Fuck?

So in the past few weeks we have seen post circulating the news feeds of Facebook about girls who were sent home because they girl showed too much collar bone. I never knew necks were distracting; I am not sure I have seen that one listed on Fetlife. So today I am browsing the wonderful newsfeed of my Facebook page when I discover this gem. A school decided to send a letter home to the parents of a girl who owns a Wonder Woman Lunchbox. The story was taken from Reddit The letter states the following:

From Reddit

“Dear Daniel and Sarah, we noticed that Laura has a Wonder Woman lunchbox that features a superhero image. In keeping with the dress code of the school, we must ask that she not bring this to school. The dress code we have established requests that the children not bring violent images into the building in any fashion — on their clothing (including shoes and socks), backpacks and lunchboxes. We have defined “violent characters” as those who solve problems using violence. Super heroes certainly fall into that category. Please refer to the dress code section of the School Handbook. Your cooperation with our dress code will be appreciated.”

mgpp09i-VkO46wWell, first off I think I need to invent something so that when we see things like this happen we can bang our heads against the wall slowly. You have to be kidding me? Let’s start with the dress code, so when did a lunchbox start having a dress code? I feel that expression is being thrown at the window for the idea of being politically correct. So when is the crack down on Donald Duck going to start happening? I haven’t heard anything about him yet. Wonder Woman dresses so terribly…(Sarcasm) but at least she is wearing pants. If this is going to start happening, let’s just make the world black and white because apparently that would make more sense to people.

Apparently standing up for yourself, being able to stand in the face adversity, and showing pride in oneself is just too damn much to handle. I have to say that if I had a daughter, and she said that her hero was Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Zatanna, Hawkgirl, or Supergirl, I know that I am doing my job as parent. Superheroes show us that we should not back down from adversity and if any of these school officials actually picked up a comic book, (I love being a nerd) they would know that most heroes choose to use their brain. For most heroes violence is a last resort. But instead Wonder Woman in the school’s mind is as violent as Chris Brown when he is dating Rhianna.

If I was this child’s parent, the next day she went to school she would be dressed as Wonder Woman. And if I had more kids, they would go as the entire damn Justice League Girls need role models, and Wonder Woman is an amazing Role Model. I can honestly it would be better than looking up at anyone of the officials that said superheroes are violent.
