Expressing one’s thoughts and emotions can be difficult for some people. Not everyone knows the rights words to say or how to say them so that they come across the way they’re meant to. Luckily, we have music to help us get our message across. Song lyrics can be very powerful, especially when telling someone how you feel. No matter what the message is you’re trying to send, I promise you there is a song for it. This time of year, though, perhaps your message has something to do with that one four letter word that can tend to scare a lot of people. I’m talking about L-O-V-E. With Valentine’s Day upon us once again, it was inevitable that love and all that goes along with it would come up here. Love them or hate them, there’s something to be said about a good love song. And there’s certainly no shortage of them, that’s for sure. Whether you’re looking for love, wondering when you’re going to find it, are falling in love or have been in love for some time, loving someone you can’t have, or you just lost a great love, there are plenty of songs out there for you. A good love song never goes out of style either. New or old, everyone can relate to a love song if it’s well written and full of emotion. I could easily rattle off a long list of timeless love songs that are so great, they’ve become classics that everyone knows. But then if I did that we would never get through this article.

Since Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, I thought it would only be appropriate to provide my readers with a list of various love songs to get you through the holiday, as well as whatever matters of the heart you may be currently dealing with. Maybe you’re looking for a playlist for your romantic evening in with your significant other or you’re looking for a first dance song at your upcoming wedding. Perhaps you need some sad songs to get you and your best girlfriends through those bad break-ups. No matter your current situation, I guarantee I have at least one or two songs for you. I decided to compile my list of what I believe are some of the best MODERN love songs that have personally graced my ears. I should clarify something, though. When I say modern, I mean within the last 15 years. You won’t find anything on this list that was released prior to 2002. Unfortunately, that means I had to nix certain artists’ covers of some amazing songs, simply because the songs were originally released many years prior to my cutoff date. Sadly, this means you won’t be seeing some fan (and my own personal) favorites. I did include a little something for almost everyone, though. Here’s my list:

I do genuinely hope all of my readers can find at least a couple of songs they enjoy, and if you discover new music from this list then I feel I did my job. I also hope you in turn share those songs with your fellow music lovers. As always, I want your feedback. Tell me which songs you liked and which ones really spoke to you. I hope you all feel loved not just on Valentine’s Day, but every day. I hope you never hesitate to tell someone, no matter who it is, how you feel about them. It’s important we always tell our loved ones that we love them, always. And remember that, “when words fail, music speaks.”
