Eva Green is one of the most stunning women that I have ever seen. For those unfamiliar, she is a French actress with delicate features complimented by gorgeous pale skin and dark raven hair. At the age of 17, Green left school to study with Eva St. Paul, a theatrical specialist. St Paul was quoted to have said “In 20 years, I have only met two students who were really hardworking. Eva Green is one of those two. There is something very distinctive about Eva. She is super-tough. She can turn down whoever, curse like a man, and be soft at the same time”. Green was mentored by St. Paul for 3 years and then she moved on to London to attend a 10-week course at Webber Douglas School. After that, she began her acting career. Eva Green has been in many notable films including The Dreamers; Sin City, A Dame to Kill; 300, Rise of an Empire; White Bird in a Blizzard; Dark Shadows and The Golden Compass. She even played a Bond Girl in Casino Royale. She has highly sought after in the past because she does not oppose doing full nudity. Of course, being of French decent, she does not view nudity as a taboo in the way most Americans do.

As someone who is always interested in dark stories and mournful paranormal, I was drawn to Eva Green. I truly noted her talent while watching her portrayal of Vanessa Ives in Penny Dreadful. She has this uncanny ability to play a character that is so startling creepy without taking away from her beauty. Throughout the series, I was never quite sure if her character would fall on the side of the heaven or hell but it did not really matter. My only interest was in the character’s journey. I watched as she battled her demons, quite literally. Vanessa was devoutly religious but she still was possessed, marked by Satan, claimed by Dracula, and battled insanity. She was loved by many and they sought to protected her from the evils that plagued her.  However, in the end, the choice was Vanessa’s to make.

Much to my dismay, I recently finished watching the third season of Penny Dreadful. However, shortly following that, Tim Burton’s film, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was released. Eva Green plays Miss Peregrine and this character right up her alley. Miss Peregrine is dark and mysterious but loving to the children in her care.

Eva Green, it is my honor to induct you into the Hall of Hotties. Between your amazing talent and beauty, you deserve it. Please keep acting in creepy horror and oddly surreal films/series so that I can continue to enjoy your work. I cannot wait to see what you do next.
