Midnight Music Video: The Dead South – In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company

by | Oct 4, 2017

I have been toying with the idea for some time to bring back Retro Music Videos, but I am insisting this is going to be the way to go. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is the return of the Midnight Music Video. Now, instead of just giving you the songs of yesteryear, it is a chance to introduce you to new artists, some you have never heard of, and some you have. A chance to feature videos from the past, present, the future of music. And the first band that is featured will put a smile on that face.

I was searching YouTube for new music and these popped up as a suggestion. I decided to click on the video, and every song they have on iTunes is no on my playlist. The Dead South is a band based out of our neighbors to the north, Regina, Saskatchewan. And their sound is different. It is a mix of bluegrass and folk, with a hint of rock. On their website it says this….

“The Dead South have been described as outlaws, modern hillbillies and Mumford and Sons’ evil twins.”

I don’t think there is a better way to describe The Dead South. But I am going to let you be the judge. But no more waiting, here is the video for their song “In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company.”
