First Look at Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor

by | Nov 9, 2017

It is beginning to look like the most wonderful time of the year, and I am not talking about Christmas. We are just a little over a month and half away from the Doctor Who Christmas Special. But this year is going to be a little more special than normal. The return of the First Doctor, Peter Capaldi’s last episode as the Doctor, Steven Moffat says good bye as the head writer, and the debut of the first female Doctor, Jodie Whittaker. As Jodie’s debut approaches, today The BBC dropped the first look at her version of the Doctor, and I honestly might be in the minority when I say I absolutely love it. It has a nice throwback to previous Doctors such as Tom Baker with stripes on the shirt and jacket. A nod to my favorite Doctor, Matt Smith with the suspenders and the boots. The jacket could be a nod to a lot of Doctors who have put on the trench coat. I also know that I can’t be the only one who feels that this look may be a nod to the 70s television show Mork & Mindy as well. Time will tell if Jodie is going to be great as the head of the TARDIS, but I can honestly say that this is a wonderful start to that process.
