NBC to Get Back Into The Paper Business in 2018

by | Dec 22, 2017

I am not sure about this, part of me feels that Christmas came early this year, and the other part of me remembers what happened when Scrubs Medical School premiered. But, NBC is going to revive one of my favorite shows in 2018, The Office. The show takes place around paper company Dunder Mifflin, and the people who make up the team. In 9 seasons, we fell in love with this cast. We were elated when Jim finally asked Pam out on a date. He felt sadness the day Michael Scott left Dunder Mifflin, the company he loved, to be with his one. We laughed at each prank, and somehow, we realized that we all know a Dwight.

Is this a good idea on the part of NBC? Due to ratings, yes. But in the context of the show, it does not make sense how this is going to work. First off, No Michael Scott. If there was a gripe about the last two seasons, it was the lack of presence from the master of the forward email. Second, in season 9, Jim and Pam quit to work so Jim could chase his dream of working at Athlead which was taking off. At this point, the show is already down three of the four main characters. Could the show work? Possibly, I am excited and nervous at the same time. I feel this may be better to resurrect on a streaming service such as Netflix, and do follow ups on all of the characters. We will find out in 2018 what is happening in Scranton PA.
