I think we might have ended up in some sort of Twilight Zone or alternate universe where everything from the 90s seems to be happening at once. In the latest reboot news and this time, it is not a television show, KB Toys will be making a comeback.
The Toys R Us liquidation has begun, and that is going to leave a void to come this holiday season. Toy sales are one of the driving factors behind the Black Friday rush. It could be parents only chance to be a hero or a zero with their kids. The best example of this would be the movie Jingle All the Way. So, besides WalMart and Target, who will step up to bring kids joy this holiday season? The answer to that question is somehow KB Toys. I bet you are wondering how is this possible? Well, you are not the only one. In 2008 KB Toys had a going out of business sale. The assets and trademarks were sold to Toys R Us. However, Toys R Us in 2016 let the trademark lapse. Enter company Strategic Marks LLC, who acquired the rights to the name KB Toys. And with Toys R Us closing this year, a void will be left in the toy market. Strategic Marks LLC want to fill that void by opening up pop up KB Toys across the country. The idea is to have these stores up and running before Christmas 2018. If you are confused as to how this works, think about the Spirit Halloween Store. Spirit operates with their stores popping up close to Halloween in random locations.
We will keep up with this information as it becomes available to us.
