It was announced earlier this year that Disney would launch its own streaming service. And one of the major worries among fans would be the price. Being that Disney has their own catalog of hit animated movies that seem to leap to number 1 at the box office. Plus, each Marvel movie is shattering a record held by the previous, and if that was not enough, Disney also owns the biggest franchise from a galaxy far away. So, the idea of price is something for fans to be somewhat hesitant about. Well, Disney released what they are shooting for with rates, and it will be a game changer in the world of streaming entertainment.
Disney CEO Robert Iger in a conference call with investors revealed the plan Disney has for their own streaming service. The main thing is the price. Disney will be offered their streaming platform at a rate cheaper than Netflix. Netflix has been the giant in the streaming service game, but that may all change once Disney gets involved. Also, a huge coo for customers purchasing the new streaming service once it will be released revolves around ESPN and HULU. The idea Disney presented would give users of all apps a chance to have something that is close to a traditional cable TV experience at a fraction of what users are paying now. Hulu last year released their own live tv streaming service.
Disney also announced that movies from the Marvel universe would not be released on Netflix once Captain Marvel is released next year. The highly anticipated film could be the first of the MCU to be released on their own platform once the movie leaves the theaters.
Disney is making a play to try to topple Netflix. And one thing that will help in their goal will be familiar titles. We are about to be in a war between streaming services. Hopefully, the winner will be our bank accounts.
