One of my favorite things about comic conventions is cosplay. I feel that cosplay is just as important as the big named guests, vehicles, or artists at these events. My heart is happy seeing men and women dressing up as characters from their favorite fandoms. However, what happens when two characters from different universes cross paths? Say for instance, Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman. One would think that a fight of epic proportions would break out and answer a question who would win an epic battle. But what if I told you that would be wrong. The answer is………LOVE.
During Motor City Comic Con in Detroit, the world of superheroes brought two very lucky people together. When Deanna And Ashley first met, they immediately had something in common, their love for the world of comics. And while the Ohio couple attended their first comic convention, Ashley wanted to put icing on the geek cupcake.
Ashley planned out the entire weekend as she told the Detroit Free Press, “Our whole relationship and our lives are based around comic books and superheroes.” She contacted a professional photographer, Susan Onysko, who would be taking photos at the convention, and thus the perfect moment is set action.
Deanna told the newspaper, ““She’s actually the first girl, the first anybody I told about my interest in comics, she gave me the courage to be myself.”
A real-life #CaptainMarvel proposed to A real life #WonderWoman and she said yes #LoveWins ??????@sapphicgeek @FlawlesslyGeeky @NicolaScottArt@IrishPatti1 @mstohl @GWillowWilson @LiamRSharp @79SemiFinalist @kellysue pic.twitter.com/uk4CjTIqTl

Right now, the news is full of stories that will depress, that will bring down the human spirit. And it’s amazing to see love take center stage in a world that is becoming more hate filled each day.
