The world of wrestling is hectic and poetic at the same time. On one hand, you could see an athletic contest between two individuals. The match tears down the house and a dirt sheet writer will give the match all the stars. Or you can be entertained by watching someone get destroyed by a dong. God, I love pro wrestling. Everything has a place inside the squared circle or TNA’s six-sided ring. So, cue All Elite Wrestling.
After the success of Double or Nothing, the upstart wrestling promotion is set to bring the fans their second outing. If this would be the world of music, this is the sophomore album. Fyter Fest is set to take place on June 29th at CEO Fighting Game Championships. And before you ask, yes that is a wrestling event named in the spirit of the Fyre Festival. Wrestling is awesome.
And as fans, we were waiting to find out the price point for the event so we could watch at home. Well at E3, Kenny Omega dropped a bombshell. Fyter Fest would stream free on Bleacher Report Live.
The companies second outing is going to be free. As a fan, I applaud this move. The company is still new and is getting their feet planted into the ground which will be needed once AEW debuts on TNT this fall. Also, this gives a chance for new eyes to check out the product. And that is a win for all fans of pro wrestling.
Some of the matches already announced:
Possibly the biggest shock at Double or Nothing was the debut of Jon Moxley fka Dean Ambrose in the WWE. Moxley’s first match in AEW will be against Joey Janela. Both of these wrestlers have a background in death matches. For the first time in what seems to be forever, a hardcore type match could take place. And if two guys could do it, it’s these two.
The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega) Vs The Lucha Brothers and a Mystery Opponent.
Cody Vs Darby Allin
Hangman Page Vs MJF VS Jungle Boy VS Jimmy Havoc
And as part of the Preshow
Michael Nakazawa takes on CEO Founder Alex Jebailey
As we look into the future, Fyter Fest could go down as one of the most pivotal shows in the history of wrestling.
