E3 is Christmas for gamers. Each brings announcements of new games, news platforms, and even new consoles. Just the idea of E3 can put a smile on the faces of many. And each year the big three turn up to bring us the next wave of announcements in the world of gaming. But 2019 is a little different. Sony is not showing up this year, which is leaving the door wide open for Nintendo and Microsoft. Today, Microsoft took center stage. The brand behind the XBOX announced 60 new games during their press conference. Microsoft gave fans more information about their new service Game Pass, and even dropped info on the next generation of console.
The biggest announcement for the company during their press conference is the next generation of console. Right now, the console is named Project Scarlet is set to stores nationwide during the holiday season in 2020. Microsoft revealed that the new console would change everything we know about the world of gaming. Here is what we know so far…
less loading times
Zen 2/Navi technology
4x more powerful than XBX
GDDR6 – 120 FPS/ 8K (HDMI 2.1)
real-time raytracing
New generation SSD, virtual RAM
It seems the main focus of the new system will be XCloud. A game streaming service that will begin in October of this year. XCloud will support every Xbox One title. A takeaway to be made with from the two announcements, the new console may not use discs. For the first time, an entire gaming catalog could be streaming and download only. And with the XCloud, it seems the days of buying used games could be a thing of the past.
Also, on launch of Project Scarlet in 2020, the next game in the Halo Franchise will be available. Gamers across the globe were able to take a look at Halo:Infinite. The Halo franchise are not strangers to being launch titles in the Microsoft Catalog. The original Halo is the game that put Xbox on the map with other gamers.
Also, beginning today is Xbox Game Pass for the PC. For the first time ever, Xbox titles have been converted to be played on your personal computer including the entire Halo Franchise up to this point. The price point for the PC game pass is 9.99. But gamers can bundle the console, Xbox Live, and the PC pass for 14.99.
And you can’t have a console without new exciting titles coming to the platforms. And what I thought was the star of the day would be the new games releasing within the next year.
