Typically, when equally talented artists collaborate, the result is usually pretty fulfilling. However, I don’t think anyone could have predicted just how incredibly epic Ed Sheeran’s collaboration with super stars Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars would be. Award-winning definitely comes to mind when hearing this song.
An unexpected trio if ever there was one, these three musical geniuses have managed to produce what is easily one of the BEST songs of 2019. With its rip-roaring guitar riffs that take on lives of their own throughout and supernatural vocal runs that stretch as far as the eye can see, “Blow” is the mind-blowing, rock anthem masterpiece we never even knew we needed. One of the latest songs released from Sheeran’s upcoming album, No.6 Collaborations Project, and produced by Mars, this monster smash is soaked in old school rock ‘n’ roll flavor and laced with just enough sexual innuendoes to scream AC/DC mixed with Aerosmith and sprinkled with some Lenny Kravitz for that extra kick.
While highlighting each one of their extraordinary musical skills, “Blow” also simultaneously showcases Sheeran’s, Stapleton’s, and Mars’ versatility that allows them to also flawlessly compliment and build off one another without any of them overshadowing the others. Branching outside of their own comfort zones quite a bit, I think each of these brilliant musicians has in the process discovered their niche for rock music, and the music world is a much better place because of it. In fact, just start getting those Grammys ready now.
