Over the years, we are subjected to a new telling of the story of Robin Hood. And by now, I do not need to explain the story to you, but if somehow you magically have never watched a movie, let me help. Robin Hood is an individual who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. I could name one major figure in the news who is the complete opposite. Much like the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John, chances are your first guess is spot on. Yada Yada Yada, Robin gets Maid Marian and everyone lives happily ever after. To this very day, Mel Brooks telling of the story in Robin Hood: Men in Tights is my favorite. But one version of story of Robin Hood, I find myself watching from time to time. The difference with this one compared to the others, it’s a Disney Animated Feature. And now that Animated version of Robin Hood is about to get the live action remake.
A live action of the 1973 cult classic Walt Disney’s Robin Hood will be coming to Disney+ at some point in the future. Kari Granlund will be working on the script for the remake. She is also the individual who penned the script for the Lady and The Tramp remake which was part of Disney+ on launch. The director of this live action version will the man behind Blindspotting, Carlos Lopez Estrada.
A release date is yet to be announced.
Will it be able to capture the essence of the animated version?
