I know all of us could use some good news from the world. And I did not expect that good news to come from Apple TV+. As a child, I loved anything with the Jim Henson named attached. My show of choice happened to be Muppet Babies. I am not sure why. The theme song would just get stuck in your head for the rest of the day and you would be singing randomly while you poop without even realizing it. But there was another show with the Jim Henson named attached. And that show I needed hooked into my veins. Because I like many of you wanted to “dance my cares away.”
Fraggle Rock premiered in 1983 on CBC in Canada, Television South in England, and the pay tv service Home Box Office aka HBO. During the run of Fraggle Rock, the show ran for 5 seasons with 96 episodes following the adventures of the Fraggles, Doozers, Gorgs, and the silly creatures from outer space. The Jim Henson show helped put a lot of smiles of children’s faces during the run. Due to that very reason, the show garnered a spot among some of the greatest pop culture properties.
Apple TV+ is giving viewers a treat while staying at home protecting others. Fraggle Rock is Back!!!! The show is returning to the small screen in the way of shorts and the Fraggles are practicing their best social distancing skills for the first episode. Think of it like this, the Fraggles and Zoom. While the first episode is only 5 minutes long, the feeling of happiness will take over your body.
Each mini episode is filmed on an iPhone 11 and releases every Tuesday. And if it helps, if you are subscribed to HBO, the original run is available.
