Growing up, I was obsessed with the show COPS. One of the first big hits for the upstart FOX network, the series gave us some iconic moments and theme song I still hum when I see someone get pulled over for speeding. But with a show as iconic as COPS, it was a matter of time before a show spoofing the format would hit the small screen. And cue Reno 911. The show follows Lieutenant Dangle and the officers of the Reno Sherriff’s Department. Reno 911 ran for 6 seasons and even had a major box-office release. But what would say if I told you Reno 911 is coming to back?
On May 4th, Reno 911 returns to the short-form video platform Quibi. And if that news is not enough to break out the shortest shorts you can find, the show will return with the original cast; Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Thomas Lennon, Niecy Nash, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cedric Yarbrough, Carlos Alazraqui, Ian Roberts, Joe LoTruglio, and Mary Birdsong.
A trailer for the season 7 premiere dropped this week and even features upcoming guest appearances from Patton Oswalt, Ron Pearlman, a brief cameo of Weird Al as Ted Nugent. 2020 is wild.
Let us know in the comments what you think of the return of Reno 911.
