Series: Living With Yourself
Where to watch it: Netflix
Seasons available: One
Miles Elliot has just been coasting through life. His work has been subpar when he use to be a superstar at his advertising company. His marriage has been strained as his wife has not been able to conceive since suffering a miscarriage. He has been rescheduling his appointment with the fertility specialist for months. His life is circling the drain before his eyes but he can’t seem to muster up the energy to do anything about it. Until a coworker tells him about a mysterious spa that will help him be his best self. In act of desperation, he drains his savings and goes to a sketchy looking shopping center for an unknown procedure performed by strange Asian “doctors”. He wakes up buried naked in a forest. If that’s not weird enough when he makes his way home, he find another Miles Elliot in bed with his wife.
Is it worth watching: Yes! I don’t want to give too much away so this review is short but it is a hilarious dark comedy, staring Paul Rudd. First, it has Paul Rudd so I’m sold. Second, this show unfolds fairly quickly- there’s only eight episodes. It’s a quick binge. Watching Miles discover what happened, try to decide what to do and how to navigate life with a second, better-at-everything Miles is so funny. Then the end, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, it’s such a mess (but in a good way). It is set up for another season so hopefully, Netflix will renew it.
