It’s MAY 4th and if there is not some sort of news from a galaxy far far away, something is amiss. But the House of Mouse did not less us down at all. A rumor started to swirl on the interwebs about Thor:Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi would direct and write a film for the Star Wars universe. And fans were excited. Today, that excitement is a reality.
Starwars.com and the official Twitter account has announced Taika Waititi would direct and co-write a Star Wars film for theatrical release. Joining Waititi on the script is Krysty Wilson-Cairns. She penned 1917 and wrote a few episodes for the show Penny Dreadful.

If this is not the perfect news to celebrate May 4th, I am not sure what is. No details on if the script is completed or when the story will take place. All we do know is more Star Wars will be on the big screen soon.
