Movie: Banana Split

April and Nick were high school sweethearts. However, at the end of their senior year, they were accepted into different colleges. Nick decides to end the relationship. April discovers this by finding pictures of Nick with his new girlfriend, Clara, on Instagram. April does what all normal girls would do – she internet stalks Clara.
April goes to a party that the new girlfriend, Clara, is at. They end up talking and, even though Clara is now dating Nick, April really likes her. They decide to keep their newfound friendship a secret from everyone; afraid that it will make things awkward. It doesn’t take long before they consider each other to be best friends. Eventually, things get dicey, their friendship is exposed, and ultimately, they must deal with jealousy over who is dating Nick.
Is it worth watching: Ehhhh…? It’s ok. I really like parts of this movie. The best part is that the focus of this movie is on the relationship of the female characters. It’s their friendship that is important thing here. In the end, it is what ultimately drives the film. They do not let a boy come between them. I love that the actress that plays April wrote the screenplay! But somehow the movie feels hollow. Like we got beginning and the end but the forgot to put in the cream filling. I think that this movie is going to hit home with the right audience, but it will be a miss with others.
