Sarah is at her sister’s wedding in Palm Springs. She sneaks off for a quickie with a guest named, Nyles, when they are attacked by a crazy man. Nyles drags himself into a cave while yelling after Sarah not to follow him. Unfortunately for Sarah, she does not listen. By entering the cave, she has magically entered into a time loop were she, Nyles, and the crazy man named, Roy, are destined to repeat the day of the wedding continuously. They choose to live each day a little differently. Some days are catastrophic – ending in terrible deaths. Some days are confusing – like when dinosaurs roamed the desert. Other days they spend relaxing and becoming closer; drifting off to sleep peacefully. But it’s always the same. The next day it forever Sarah’s sister’s wedding. After multiple attempts Sarah finally figures out how to break the time loop. Nyles and Roy then ultimately choose to follow after her finally closing the loop.
Is it worth watching: Sure, this is an ok movie. But it’s just ok. I really wanted to love this movie. It has Andy Samberg. I think he’s a phenomenal actor and comedian. It has really good reviews. Truth is, it’s just ok. It’s just a repeat of a formula “Groundhog Day” storyline with a bit of rom-com tropes thrown in. It has some cute parts. It also has some tedious, cliches. I’d rather just watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine instead.
