Though the first season of Vinland Saga is currently unavailable on Crunchyroll, the second season will premiere on the site in January 2023.
A new trailer for Season 2 has been released alongside the Crunchyroll news.
The teaser not only included all new action sequences, but also debuted the series’ second season’s theme song.
Vinland Saga Season 2 New Trailer With Opening
The brand-new trailer has been posted on two separate YouTube channels: the official MAPPA channel and the TWIN ENGINE channel. The new trailer features the hit song “River” by Anonymouz.
In case you haven’t heard of it, Vinland Saga is an anime adaptation of Makoto Yukimura’s manga of the same name.
The manga has been serialised in Weekly Shonen Magazine, and the final chapter will appear in the near future.
In July of 2019, creators Wit Studio debuted the first season. While MAPPA was not used for Season 1, the show’s production shifted there for Season 2.
Like Attack on Titan, which was also shifted from Wit Studio to MAPPA for its final season, this feels like it may have been done by accident.
Cast
The show has a stellar cast now that a different studio is producing it. First of all, Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen) and Takahiko Abiru (character design) are responsible for the show’s screenplay and character design, respectively (Death Note, Attack on Titan The Final Season).
Music by Yutaka Yamada and an appearance by Yusuke Takeda (Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song, Penguin Highway) round out the package (Alice in Borderland, Tokyo Revengers, Tokyo Ghoul).
Meanwhile, the series features a cast of returning voice actors, including:
- Yuto Uemura as Thorfinn
- Shunsuke Takeuchi as Einar
- Kensho Ono as Canute
- Mayumi Sako as Arnheid
- Yu Hayashi as Olmar
- Hideaki Tezuka as Ketil
- Taiten Kusunoki as Thorgil
- Fuminori Komatsu as Snake
- Mugihito as Sverkel
- Yoji Ueda as Leif
- Akio Otsuka as Thorkel
